This Privacy Policy explains what information FirstVial collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the FirstVial website and member dashboard (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
FirstVial provides research and educational content about peptides and related compounds to members in the United States. This content is for research and educational purposes only and is not medical advice.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the password you set. Passwords are stored in a securely hashed form, not as plain text.
- Membership information. We keep a record of your plan, your membership status, renewal or expiration dates, and, where it applies, the redemption code used to grant access.
- Payment information. When you buy a plan, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card and billing details. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as a customer reference, the plan purchased, and whether a payment succeeded. We do not store your full card number.
- Usage information. We may collect basic information about how you use the Service, such as which protocols you have recently viewed, so we can show your recent activity in your dashboard and improve the Service.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and security tools may log technical details such as your IP address, browser type, and access times for security and reliability.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and provide access to member content.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations.
- Send you service related email, such as account confirmations, billing notices, and important updates, including any notice about changes to the Service.
- Send you product updates and other communications where you have agreed to receive them.
- Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.
4. Payment processing through Stripe
We use Stripe to process payments. When you enter payment details, they are sent directly to Stripe and handled under Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy. Stripe acts as the processor of your card data. We recommend you review Stripe’s privacy policy to understand how they handle your information.
5. Email communications through Brevo
We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to send transactional and marketing email. To do this, we share your email address and limited account details with Brevo so that messages can be delivered to you. Brevo processes this information on our behalf under their terms and privacy policy. Marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of marketing messages at any time. We may still send you essential service messages, such as billing notices and shutdown notices, while your account is active.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service, including with:
- Service providers who help us operate, such as our hosting provider, Stripe for payments, and Brevo for email.
- Legal and safety recipients, when we believe in good faith that sharing is needed to comply with the law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of FirstVial, our members, or others.
- Business transfers, if FirstVial is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to protect your information.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though turning some cookies off may affect how the Service works.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We may keep certain records after your account closes where we need them for legal, tax, security, or record keeping reasons. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure password storage and the use of trusted processors such as Stripe for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices
You can update your account email and password from your account, and you can cancel a subscription at any time through the billing portal. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in those messages. If you would like to access, correct, or delete your personal information, contact us using the support details in your account or on the website, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
11. Children
FirstVial is intended only for adults aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. United States only
FirstVial is intended for residents of the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. We do not direct the Service to people outside the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify members by email.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us through the support details provided in your account or on the website.
